Table tennis, originated as an indoor alternative to tennis and badminton. in England in the late 19th century Wealthy Victorians played in their dining rooms with players using books or cigar box lids as bats and golf balls or champagne corks as balls. Table tennis is a very good sport for older people. It helps hand/eye co-ordination and requires both forward and back and side to side movement. So, why not give it a try? Some of us have played in our youth and beyond, but others haven’t. It doesn’t matter. You only need to bring plimsolls or trainers that won’t damage the floor. A bat if you don’t have one, balls and refreshments are provided
